Flying Without A Broom

I fly above this magical island
On a shimmering starry night ,
Occasionally rising above sea level…
Just like these emotions often do.

Coming up for little moments…
Where life is truly felt,
Only to sink back under waters..
To rest in the ocean’s abyss.

Without a broom or pointy hat,
Euphoria enough for my flight.
My heart works as the compass,
It’s beat racing through endless skies.

But the skies don’t hold the heavens
Your lips make me find its doors…
But I don’t need to enter through them
As your arms feel like my home.

So the stars decide to fall down upon…
As the dreamers kiss below.
This moment belonging only to us…
The sky showers its entire army above.

Together we fly through the stars…
That show up as all lights go out…
White sand all around our feet…
Waves making melodies at its shore.

Till a flashlight comes on in the distance…
And the kiss becomes a peck,
The stars become little dots,
The magic dissolving through the haze.

I go back to the boat that took us there,
Row away through still waves of the night…
The island sinks back under waters…
And I wish I could become a mermaid tonight.
